A drama performance after the same name work “The Masquerade” by Mikhail Lermontov. The scene of the drama is laid in ancient Saint Petersburg of the 30-ies years of the XIX century – the centre of hypocrisy, falsehood, and egoism. There shown the daily life of the society, the metropolitan aristocracy, being keen on balls, gambling, and masquerades.
